Faith presents the second volume of ‘Ain’t That A Groove’, a series of 12” pressings collating current and forthcoming productions and remixes from the London label. Originally launched in 1999 by Boy’s Own legend Terry Farley alongside Stuart Patterson and Dave Jarvis, the cult label relaunched in 2020 after renewed interest from house heads and Faith fanzine readers. Opening up this collection, one of Chicago's finest house producers and songwriters Robert Owens and his 2023 collab with Nolan ‘I’ll Be Your Friend’, a bona fide house classic reignited for audiences of today. Hilit Kolet’s ‘POV Siren’ follows, a stomping club cut that received support from the likes of Carl Cox and TSHA. The four-track press also includes New Zealand talent Philippa’s remix of ‘The Night’, originally by Pete Heller & Terry Farley as Roach Motel, as well as Terry’s latest release with frequent collaborator Wade Teo spotlighting Kameelah Waheed on vocals with the TDK 90 Dope Mix of ‘Dancing After Dark’.

Kicking things off on our next 4-track vinyl sampler series is Toolroom's very own Martin Ikin who returns to the label with ‘Make U Sweat’! He was the Best-selling Tech House artist on Beatport in 2020 and 2021 and has over 1m monthly listeners across streaming platforms. Recent studio collabs have included Noizu and Joshwa and tours have seen him travel far and wide to the US, Brazil, Bali, Ibiza, Italy, Croatia and of course, his hometown of London. This new record is the follow up to 'Oscill8' that dropped in March 2023 and sits in a similar lane, in that it's pure, unadulterated club weaponry! Next up is Italian house legend Flashmob with the frenetic, high-energy club vibe of new cut ‘My Body’. Flashmob's sound, production and go-for-broke DJ sets have changed with the game, embracing the vitality of new house music rather than hankering after sentimental sunsets. His ethic and aesthetic move relentlessly forward, using the old and new to craft unique sonic alchemy from big festivals like Tomorrowland to the intimacy of small clubs on the international circuit. ‘My Body’ is typical of Flashmob's current sound, combining solid drums and some insane synths and fx, alongside an earworm vocal sample that results in yet another memorable club cut from an established master. Canadian Tech House maestro Nathan Barato debuts on Toolroom kicking off the B-side to the vinyl alongside studio partner, Matheo Velez with 'Weapon'. A record that has already caught the attention of the underground elite with Michael Bibi premiering the track at his first appearance back at DC-10 in Ibiza last Summer. Rounding things off is UK DJ/producer duo, Jenn Getz & Alfie who are residents at Dubai's #1 nightlife destination, Soho Garden, where they warm up for legends such as Sonny Fodera, MK, Claptone, Solardo & Fisher on a weekly basis. In their relatively short 3 year career they have already released on Solotoko, Abode and Toolroom Trax and now debut on Toolroom with 'Vibration'. Both girls are incredibly passionate about house music and are also big advocates for a life centered around well-being and meditation, and the idea of this record was to combine their 2 passions in life, so they proceeded to co-write these original lyrics to accompany the track, which in itself is very inspiring! Mysticisms' is delighted to reissue Nail's timeless debut release, Cassiopeia. Appearing on the DiY Collective's 'Strictly 4 Groovers' compilation album for Warp Records in 1993, the original appears as a stand alone at last and is backed with a specially created 2019 Remix.
Starting in 1989 and centered around Nottingham, the collective, also known as DiY Sound System, were a focal point for the burgeoning house scene in the midlands. Promoting an alternative take on post-acid house's creeping commercialisation, DiY kept to simple ethos of good music and a good party and were at the forefront of the new Free Party movement.
Alongside parties, the collective set up a studio and label and young Neil Tolliday was introduced by in-house engineer Damian Stanley. 'Nail' was born and during studio downtime, the 18 year old wrote Cassiopeia around the S1000 sampler, Juno 106, Oberheim Matrix 1000 and Roland SH101.
Cassiopeia became the stand out inclusion on the compilation and rightly, is still highly prized. Fitting in and outside the Deep House vibe DiY were known, it fuses elements of ambient and even trance, with a beautiful arpeggio and vocal sample atop simple, but killer bass line and claps. Tolliday's 2019 Remix is a fitting accompaniment, stretching towards dub techno before house kicks back perfectly for today's heads.

“Uh Huh” hearkens back to a Beautiful Time, ripping off and improving upon a Silver Convention-esque bassline. “Da Ya” is a deep cut Eastern European cover of a sleazy pop disco classic. “Petula” is LUXXURY’s most popular rework to date after DJ Harvey gave it an auspicious premiere in his Milan Boiler Room set.

Pure unadulterated boogie fire from the Gold Mink vaults, which combined the power of James Bedford with the production genius of Roy Ayers back in ’81. With original copies trading hands for £150+ it’s high time a remastered and officially licensed reissue came around.

A firm favourite of the likes of Mr Scruff and Sadar Bahar, ‘Just Keep My Boogie’ is that uplifting slice of boogie that is a tried and tested dancefloor bomb. The brightest of funk keys dance around delicious little guitar licks as those infectious vocals burrow their way into your brain.

Take to the B side for another staple, and go-to gem, for some of the biggest around including, Antal, Hunee, Ge-ology and Sadar Bahar. ‘Happy Music’ is one of those funk-heavy, mesmerising cuts that seemingly evaporates all prior worries and instantly injects the urge to dance, no matter the scenario.

Two certified must-haves on either side of a 12 inch, gold for sure.

Let’s get close! On the dancefloor. This is straight up, tear-the-roof-off business. Single-sided, hand-stamped heat.

The absolute Don of Italo piano house, Don Carlos brings his legendary sound to RNT with an EP of classic floor fillers. Don (Carlo Troya) and S-Tone (Stefano Tirone) released two records on Bologna label Calypso in the early 90s under the artist name Montego Bay.

Incredibly, the four tracks on this EP were also produced 30 years ago, then shelved and forgotten about until recently when a connection with RNT inspired to Don dig up their rare vintage! From pumping melodic house jams like Music All Night and Waited So Long, to sampled disco house cuts Keep Dancing the Boogie and Gotta Keep Dancing, this EP is a veritable time capsule, dripping with the swag and sonics of the golden era of 90s club music.

LNTG brings another batch of those supremely executed edits to the table, timeless tracks from the vaults given a fresh feel, extended, reworked and reloved. One side shines a light on a record that has had the resurgence of the century and on the B, two steamy disco belters.

Originally recorded by D-Train, some might say this is one of the most important post disco records from the 1980’s, which appeared on the legendary Prelude records originally. What makes this version particularly special, is the fact it features another important artist from the post disco era Colonel Abrams, who is most famous for his cult classics ‘Trapped’ and ‘I’m Not Gonna Lie’ which both topped the charts in the mid 80’s. Aussie disco lord Dr Packer, who is currently on tour across Europe teams up with newcomer Sonic Soul Orchestra, who flip this into a fresh disco house cut that includes all new instrumentation whilst respecting the smooth vocal stylings of the Colonel. Plus remixes from Ross Couch, & Ricky Morrison (M&S).

20 year old Utrecht based producer Julian Alexander steps up for the next release in Infuse with a ep of raw house grooves.
Sweet Rain kicks things off, its deeply rounded bass and swung percussion imbuing the track with a real sense of groove.
Cabin Fever continues the vibe whilst Present brings a sense of warmth, an undulating pad lending the track a more blissed out feel whilst Straight furrows a tougher path with a dirtier warehouse kick and metallic percussion.
